PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an alloy powder production method wherein the production cost of rare earth metal-containing alloy powder is reduced by the shortage of the input energy and production time required for the production of the alloy powder.
SOLUTION : An alloy powder production method in which rare earth metal-containing alloy powder is produced by the reduction diffusion reaction of rare earth metal oxide, the other metal and a reducing agent to be heat-generated by hydrogenation or nitriding, is provided with a step of heating the rare earth metal oxide, the other metal, and the reducing agent in a hydrogen atmosphere or a nitrogen atmosphere.
