SOLUTION : In the manufacturing method of an R-Fe-B based rare earth sintered magnet, An R-Fe-B based rare earth sintered magnet body is prepared that has as a main phase R2Fe14B type compound crystal grains containing a light rare earth element RL (at least one kind between Nd and Pr) as a main rear earth element R. Then while an M element (at least one kind selected from a group of Dy, Ho, and Tb) is supplied to a surface of the sintered magnet body, the sintered magnet body is heated to diffuse the M element into the rear earth sintered magnet body from the surface.
