PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth sintered magnet excellent in corrosion resistance while maintaining an excellent magnetic characteristic.
SOLUTION : A rare earth sintered magnet 100 contains an R-T-B-based alloy and a nitride 42 of a transition element, and the nitride 42 of a transition element is distributed preferentially in a second region 40 that is a surface part, wherein R, T, and B represent a rare earth element, an element comprising at least one of iron and cobalt, and boron, respectively.
