PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To achieve at least one of an improvement in squareness of an R-T-B based rare earth sintered magnet and an improvement in coercive force HcJ of an R-T-B based rare earth metal magnet while suppressing an amount of Dy used.
SOLUTION : A rare earth sintered magnet 1 includes : a crystal grain 2 of a plurality of R2T14B (R contains at least one of Nd and Pr and at least one of Dy and Tb among rate earth elements, and T is a transition metal element containing Fe as an essential element and at least one of Co and Ni); and a crystal grain boundary 3 existing between adjacent crystal grains 2 and having more amounts of Nd and Cu and less amounts of Dy than those on a surface of the crystal grain 2.
