The present invention relates to a method for the depolymerisation of lignin or the derivatives thereof, including a step of heating the lignin or the derivatives thereof in the presence of a hydroxide of the general formula M(OH)n or a mixture of M(OH)n hydroxides, where M is a metal of the alkali or alkaline-earth family and n is equal to 1 or 2, and where the mass ratio between said hydroxide or mixture of hydroxides and the lignin or the derivatives thereof is comprised between around 0.5 and around 20. |
