PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a rare earth magnet capable of effectively avoiding the risk of ignition of a compact without the fear of deterioration of the characteristics and without requiring an excessive capital investment. SOLUTION : After a compact of a rare earth alloy power is taken out from a compacting machine, an inert gas (e.g. nitrogen gas) is blown on the compact.
