PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide bismuth vanadate which can exhibit high degree of yellowness, and yellow pigment which attains at least any one of the facts that it can be used in a wide field of a coating material, a plastic, a ceramic or the like, that it exhibits high coloring power, that it suppresses occurrence of load on an environment when it is used, and that the yellow colored material can be manufactured at a low cost.
SOLUTION : The bismuth vanadate pigment has a composition satisfying average composition formula (1) (in the formula, A expresses a rare earth element, (x) is optional positive number satisfying 0.02≤x≤0.2). The yellow pigment comprises the bismuth vanadate pigment.
