PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-earth magnet having high magnetic characteristics and improved scratch resistance and corrosion resistance properties. SOLUTION : The magnet comprises : a magnet element body containing a rare earth element, a first layer formed on the surface of the magnet element body, and a second layer laminated on the first layer. In the magnet, the first layer contains metal, and the second layer contains an alloy of Cu and at least one metal selected from Sn and Zn.
