PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a manufacturing method by which a rare earth bonded magnet having a sufficiently superior coercive force and squareness of demagnetization curve is manufactured.
SOLUTION : The manufacturing method for the rare earth bonded magnet includes : a first process of fabricating a molding by molding in a magnetic field a mixed powder including a magnetic powder including a light rare earth element and obtained by a hydrogenation-decomposition-desorption-recombination method, and a diffusing agent including a heavy rare earth element; and a second process of obtaining the rare earth bonded magnet by impregnating the molding with a resin and curing the resin. The magnetic powder in the first process is a mixture of a first magnetic powder of 1-30 μm in mean particle size and a second magnetic powder of 80-200 μm in mean particle size, and at least one of the mixed powder and molding is heated in the first process to diffuse the heavy rare earth element into particles of the first magnetic powder and second magnetic powder.
