PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet which has superior corrosion resistance. SOLUTION : The rare earth magnet 100 has a magnet element body 10 containing a rare earth element and a protective layer 20 formed on a surface of the magnet element body 10, wherein the protective layer 20 includes a first layer 22 as a metal layer containing at least one selected from a group of copper, nickel, and tin, a second layer 24 as a metal layer containing zinc, and a third layer 26 as a metal layer containing tin.
