PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric ceramic such as BaRe2Ti5O14and BaRe2Ti4O12obtained by combustion synthesis and having excellent sintering characteristics and a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION : The dielectric ceramic is an oxide-base expressed by a composition, BaRe2TimO2m+4(in the formula, 3≤m≤7; (m) is an integer, Re is a rare earth element) and is obtained by blending reaction raw materials at least containing Ti powder having 0.01-2 m2/g specific surface area, Re2O3, BaO2and an ionically bonding material to become an oxygen supply source in a prescribed ratio and carrying out the combustion synthesis at an adiabatic flame temperature of ≥1, 500°C.
