PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To increase the dielectric constant of a dielectric ceramic containing ABO3 (A certainly contains Ba and further can contain at least one of Ca and Sr, and B certainly contains Ti and further can contain at least one of Zr and Hf) as a main constituent and containing Re (Re is at least one of Dy, Ho, Sc, Y, Gd, Er, Yb, Tb, Tm, and Lu) as an accessory constituent.
SOLUTION : The dielectric ceramic 11 contains a main phase grain 12 comprising an ABO3-based main constituent and a secondary phase grain 13 having a different composition from the main phase grain 12. The ratio of the content of Re in the secondary phase grain 13 to the total content of Re in the dielectric ceramic 11 is ≥50%, the distribution of Re is concentrated in the secondary phase grain 13. The content of Re in the secondary phase grain is preferably ≥30 mol%.
