PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an electrolytic refining method for copper, in which peeling failure of electrodeposited copper caused by power outage can be suppressed and countermeasures can be taken on an individual basis on cathode electrode plates in electrolytic cells where occurrence frequency of peeling problems of the electrodeposited copper is particularly high.
SOLUTION : The electrolytic refining method for copper comprises : (a) a step of immersing a cathode electrode plate 13 and an anode electrode plate 12 made of crude copper in a plurality of electrolytic cells 1 housing an electrolyte, thereby depositing the electrodeposited copper 6 on a surface of the cathode electrode plate 13 through electrolysis; (b) a step of withdrawing power supply to the electrolytic cells 1 for a prescribed period of time; (c) a step of changing depth of the immersion of the anode electrode plate 12 in the electrolyte 100; and (d) a step of resuming power supply to the electrolytic cells 1 and depositing re-electrodeposited copper 7 on a surface of the electrodeposited copper 6.
