PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide zeolite represented as UMZ-16, which has an anomalous structure and sufficient difference with offretite although it has some similarity with the offretite, and to provide UZM-16HS zeolite, obtained by subjecting the UZM-16 to a dealuminum treatment.
SOLUTION : The zeolite includes : an exchangeable cation M selected from the group comprising alkali metals and alkaline earth metals; a cation R comprising benzyltrimethylammonium (BzTMA) cation or a combination of the BzTMA and at least one other specified organic ammonium cation; and a component E which is selected from the group comprising gallium, iron, boron, chromium, indium and mixtures thereof and exists in the skeleton of the zeolite. The zeolite is represented by formula (1), wherein m, r, x, y and z each represents a specific ratio.
