PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric ceramic improving reliability in a high temperature load test and prolonging the service life.
SOLUTION : The dielectric ceramic comprises a crystal particle comprising a perovskite type compound oxide containing Ba, Ti, rare earth element, Mg and Mn and a grain boundary phase. In the crystal particle, the ratio of the concentration of the rare earth element to the concentration of Mn is made smaller with increase of the distance from the surface of the crystal particle. The dielectric ceramic having high reliability in the high temperature load test is obtained.
