PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a means for selectively recovering a metal having large ion radius, such as rare-earth metals.
SOLUTION : A metal recovering chemical, with which the metal is made to be an aggregate by coordinate bond, comprises a water-soluble polymer (2) having amino-group and water-soluble polymer (4) having acid- group, and the water-soluble polymer having the amino-group is combined with the amino-group in the main-chain composed of straight-chain hydrocarbon and the water-soluble polymer having the acid-group is combined with the acid-group in the main-chain composed of the straight-chain hydrocarbon. The chemical for recovering a metal, is characterized in that a part of the amino-group in the water-soluble polymer having the amino-group or a part of the acid-group in the water-soluble polymer having the acid-group, is made to be salt, and an apparatus for separation-recovering a metal uses the chemical.
