PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a water-retaining board which is set in soil or mixedly dispersed in the soil to be used and can be easily processed in accordance with water retainability or installation location to be excellent in construction properties, into which roots are easily get so as not to inhibit growth of plants, and which is decomposed in the soil to be naturally resolved when left as it is for a long period of time.
SOLUTION : The water-retaining board includes a wooden fibrous board (1), contains a large amount of air or moisture between wooden fibers (2) entwining with one another so as to reduce the frequency of watering and/or the amount of supplied water, and thereby is effective in a case specifically such as a summer season when the board easily gets dry and particularly requires water. The board is gradually corrupted/decomposed/resolved due to underground bacteria when used in the soil for a long period of time and then converted into a fertilizer, so as to reduce the frequency of application of fertilizer and/or the amount of the fertilizer and also be earth-conscious. Further, the wooden fibrous board (1) can be easily cut off to be easily constructed in accordance with the cite, and has heat-storing properties to contribute warm retaining properties in the soil.
