PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet having sufficiently excellent corrosion resistance and being capable of maintaining superior magnetic characteristics over long periods.
SOLUTION : A rare earth magnet 100 includes a magnet element 10 containing rare-earth elements; and a film 20 which contains a compound having silicon, nitrogen and hydrogen as the constituting elements on a magnet element 10. The film 20 has a first region 1 on the magnet element 10 side and a second region 2 placed outside the first region 1; and the second region 2 has a hydrogen content ratio which is higher than that of the first region 1.
