PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a solid fuel having sufficient flammability and capable of sufficiently reducing fusion to a heater.
SOLUTION : The solid fuel includes a powder obtained from a coal, and a heat treatment article obtained by heating a plastic. The powder contains at least either one of a fine powdery coal obtained by pulverizing the coal and a thermal decomposition article obtained by thermally decomposing the fine powdery coal, and the plastic contains a thermoplastic resin. The heat treatment article contains a re-solidified article obtained by cooling the thermoplastic resin after it is melted. The content of a volatile article is 30-80 mass%, the content of a fixed carbon is 10-50 mass%, and the moisture content is 0.1-50 mass%.
