PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an outer packaging for a lithium ion battery having high electrolyte resistance and high hydrofluoric acid resistance even if the surface etching of aluminum foil performing by immersion in an acid bath or an alkali bath is eliminated regardless of no chromate treatment on the surface of aluminum foil, and to provide a method of manufacturing the outer packaging of the lithium ion battery.
SOLUTION : In the outer packaging 1 for the lithium ion battery formed by laminating an adhesive layer 12, an aluminum foil layer 13, a coating layer 14, an adhesive resin layer 15, and a sealant layer16 on one surface of a substrate layer 11 in order, the coating layer 14 contains a specific amount of anionic polymer (A), a crosslinker (B) crosslinking the anionic polymer (A), a phosphorus compound (C), and a rare earth element oxide (D).
