PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric barrier discharge lamp capable of avoiding breakage of a glass tube even if a dent caused by collision of ion is developed and prolonging life of the lamp. ŽSOLUTION : On the dielectric barrier discharge lamp formed by arranging a phosphor membrane 2 on an inside face of the glass tube 1, enclosing mixed gas 3 of mercury and rare-gas in the glass tube, sealing both ends of the glass tube, and arranging electrodes 4 on both end parts of the gall tube, the shape of inside faces 21A, 21B of the glass tube at sealing parts 20A, 20B at one end part or both end parts of the glass tube is formed into such an indented-shape that is more indented toward axis end side as it is headed from tube wall side to tube axis side.
