PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To suppress the turbulence of a powder orientation when carrying out a-powder compression molding in an orientation magnetic field. SOLUTION : The objective powder pressing apparatus is provided with a die 12 having a through-hole for forming a cavity, a first and second punches 14 and 16 for pressing a rare earth metal alloy magnetic powder filled in the cavity and a magnetic field-generating means for applying an orientation magnetic field parallel to a press direction to the rare earth metal alloy magnetic powder in the cavity. At least one of the first and second punches 14 and 16 has a curved pressing face which has a form for suppressing movement of the particle of the above magnetic powder along the face during a press operation. |
