PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare-earth metal-magnesium-nickel-aluminum series hydrogen storage alloy with which even in the case of leaving a battery made of this alloy as it is, a working voltage is difficult to be low.
SOLUTION : This hydrogen storage alloy is shown as general formula of (Laa, Nbb, Ac, Bd)1-vMgv, Niw, Alx, Zny, Tz (wherein, in general formula, A is at least one element selected from Sm and Gd; B is at least one element selected from Pr, Eu, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Sc, Zr, Hf, Ca and Y; and T is at least one element selected from V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, Mn, Co, Ga, Fe, Sn, In, Cu, Si, P and B) and there are the relations of 0≤a, 0≤b, 0≤c, 0≤d<0.1, a+b+c+d=1.0 and 0≤z≤0.5 and further, 0.08≤v≤0.12, 0.10≤x≤0.20, 0.10≤y≤0.20 and 3.15≤w+x+y+z≤3.30 in general formula.
