PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of producing the magnet powder for permanent magnets, capable of producing a permanent magnet with high coercive force, to provide the permanent magnet powder, and to provide the permanent magnet having superior coercive force.
SOLUTION : For the magnet powder having the composition of R1-Fe-B system (R1 is one kind or more selected from rare earth elements including Sc and Y) and internally having a crystal grain boundary, deposition or sputtering is performed using a metal containing one kind or more selected from rare earth elements including Sc and Y as a deposition material or a target material, and then heat treatment is performed thus producing the magnet powder for permanent magnets. A permanent magnet is obtained using the powder for permanent magnet thus obtained.
