A ferritic stainless steel suitable for the EGR cooler members to be subjected to Ni-brazing and an EGR cooler using same. An EGR cooler having a structure joined by Ni-brazing is produced by using a ferritic stainless steel which contains by mass C : 0.03% or less, Si : more than 0.1 to 3%, Mn : 0.1 to 2%, Cr : 10 to 25%, Nb : 0.3 to 0.8%, and N : 0.03% or less and contains, at need and each selectively, (a) one or more of Mo, Cu, V and W in a total amount of 4% or below, (b) one or more of Ti, Al and Zr in a total amount of 0.3% or below, (c) Ni and/or Co in a total amount of 5% or below, and/or (d) one or more of REM’s (rare earth elements) and Ca in a total amount of 0.2% or below with the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities. |
