PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a heat ray shielding particle excellent in weather resistance.
SOLUTION : There is provided a heat ray shielding particle which is a particle containing composite tungsten oxide, which contains M element (M : one or more kind of element selected from H, He, alkali metals, alkali earth metals, rare earth elements or the like), tungsten and oxygen with seat occupancy of the M element (S) of 85% or more, has one or more kind of crystal structure selected from tetragonal crystal, cubic crystal, hexagonal crystal, and monoclinic crystal, lattice strain of the tungsten oxide composite calculated by an X ray diffraction method of 0.25% or less, and average particle diameter of 5 nm to 200 nm.
