简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing a rare-earth permanent magnet by which the appropriate range of heat treatment temperature can be extended and mass productivity can be improved and also to provide a raw material alloy therefor. SOLUTION : The range of secondary aging treatment temperature where high coercive force can be obtained can be extended by using a rapidly solidified thin strip alloy where, in a grain boundary phase, Al as an additive is not uniformly dispersed through the whole alloy but distributed in such a way that the amount of Al in the grain boundary phase is smaller than that in the other part. By extending the appropriate range of heat treatment temperature, an R-T-B type rare-earth permanent magnet with stably high coercive force can be obtained independently of variability in temperature distribution in a heat treatment furnace at mass production and mass productivity can be improved.
