PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of preventing adhesion of scale to the surface of products and a scale adhesion preventive article which maintain cleanliness without possibility of adhesion of scale and thus retain a scale adhesion preventing effect for a long period, require little time and effort of cleaning, achieve water saving and also prevent fouling and damage.SOLUTION : The method of preventing adhesion of scale to the surface of products is for preventing adhesion of scale to the surface of products having a coating film which is formed at least in an area(s) of the surface of a substrate to which scale possibly adheres and contains one or more oxides selected from zirconium oxide, hafnium oxide and rare earth oxides.
