Disclosed are a ferrite sintered magnet which has a ferrite phase having a hexagonal M-type magneto-plumbite structure essentially containing Ca; R element which is at least one of rare-earth elements and which essentially contains La; A element which is Ba and/or Sr; Fe; and Co, wherein the composition ratio of metal elements of Ca, R, A, Fe, and Co is represented by the general formula : Ca1-x-yRxAyFe2n-zCoz, and the atomic ratios of the elements, 1-x-y, x, y, z, and the mole ratio n satisfy 0.3≤1-x-y≤0.65, 0.2≤x≤0.65, 0≤y≤0.2, 0.03≤z≤0.65, and 4≤n≤7, and a grain boundary phase essentially containing Si, characterized in that the content of Si is more than 1% by mass and 1.8% by mass or less in SiO2 equivalent with respect to the entirety of the ferrite sintered magnet, and a method for producing the same. |
