PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide the technology of producing a rare metal by which the rare metal is separated and recovered in a series of processes and the occurrence of secondary waste is reduced.
SOLUTION : The method of producing the rare metal includes : a step (S15) of electrolyzing an electrolyte solution to collect Re oxide on a cathode electrode; a step (S17) of recovering Re oxide and electrolyzing in a molten salt electrolyte to collect the Re metal; a step (S21) of recovering a Nd-containing residual solution : a step (S22-S26) of treating the Nd-containing residual solution to form Nd oxide; a step (S27) of electrolyzing Nd oxide in the molten salt electrolyte to collect an Nd metal; a step (S31) of recovering a Dy-containing residual solution; a step (S32-S34) of treating the Dy-containing residual solution to form Dy oxide; and a step (S35) of electrolyzing Dy oxide in the molten salt electrolyte to collect a Dy metal.
