PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a water-inmiscible processing lubricating composition which excels in cutting processing of a material other than a rare earth magnet by a fixed abrasive grain wire saw. SOLUTION : The water-inmiscible processing lubricant composition comprises at least one water-inmiscible base oil selected from a mineral oil, a hydrocarbon solvent, an ester compound, an alcoholic compound, and an α-olefin as the major component, and has a kinematic viscosity at 40 deg.C of 2.5-70.0 mm /s. When the base oil is constituted of a mineral oil, a hydrocarbon based solvent, and an ester compound, as the ratio, the mineral oil is 20-80 wt.%; the hydrocarbon based solvent is 10-60 wt.%; and the ester compound is 1-40 wt.%. The composition can further contain a sulfur-containing compound and its content is preferably 0.01-40 wt.% of the composition. |
