PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth-iron-nitrogen-based magnetic powder which has superior coercive force, has a superior rectangularity ratio, and can retain magnetic properties even in the atmosphere of 350°C or higher without catching fire, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION : The magnetic powder has a composition expressed by the general formula of RxT100-x-y-zNyMzso as to make M component distributed abundantly in the surface side of the powder, and has a crystal structure of single crystal Th2Zn17, wherein R represents at least one of rare earth elements including Y; T represents at least one metal of Fe and transition metals; M represents at least one element or an oxide thereof, which has standard Gibbs energy in a range of minus 80 kcal to minus 300 kcal at a temperature between 300 and 1, 200°C; 3COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI |
