PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To increase the residual magnetic flux density and coercive force of a rare earth magnet, and to raise the Curie temperature thereof.
SOLUTION : The magnet formed by binding magnetic powder has a surface of the magnetic powder coated with a metal fluoride film, and the magnetic powder forms a crystal structure including a homo-portion having adjacent atoms bonded to each other and a hetero-portion having two iron atoms bonded to each other through an atom other than an iron atom, the distance between the two iron atoms being made different from the distance between the adjacent iron atoms.
