PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a catalyst which desulfurizes hydrocarbon raw material including sulfur, reduces the concentration of sulfur to 0.1 wt.ppm or less and allows the obtained fuel gas to be suitably used for a fuel cell system using a solid polymer type fuel cell in particular. SOLUTION : The hydrocarbon raw material containing sulfur can be desulfurized to sulfur concentration of 0.1 ppm or less by using the desulfurization catalyst for hydrocarbon made by depositing 0.1-50 mass% of rare earth element such as lanthanum and yttrium or rare earth element compound as element on Y-type zeolite. |
