PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an Mg alloy member whose tensile strength can be improved without depending on the size of a magnesium host phase.
SOLUTION : The Mg alloy member is composed of a (100-x-y) at%Mg-y at%Zn-x at% Re alloy, in which a quasicrystal phase is exhibited in the compositional regions where x is 0.2 to 1.5 at% and y is 5x to 7x, precipitated grains as the quasicrystal phase are dispersed in the Mg alloy member, and the grains are needle-like grains in which the size thereof is 10 to 50 μm, and also, the aspect ratio thereof is ≥3.
