FIELD : metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE : procedure consists in casting a strip out of steel melt with specified chemical composition implementing moving surface of a cooling roller (s). Melt contains, wt % : C 0.003 or less, Si from 1.5 to 3.5, Al from 0.2 to 3.0, 1.9 ≤ (Si+Al), Mn from 0.02 to 1.0, S 0.003 or less, N 0.2 or less, Ti 0.005 or less, Cu 0.2 or less, total oxygen from 0.001 to 0.005, summary content of rare earth metals REM and/or Ca from 0.002 to 0.01. Steel melt is tapped in atmosphere Ar, He or their mixture. Cast strip is cold rolled and continuously annealed. Thus, cast steel out of fast solidified electric steel possesses high density of magnet flow and low losses in core.
EFFECT : production of sheet of random-orientation electric steel with excellent magnetic properties.
