PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an R-T-B series sintered magnet which can improve a coercive force and a mechanical strength. SOLUTION : The R-T-B series sintered magnet includes a main phase which includes an R2T14B compound (wherein R is one type or two types or more of rare earth elements, and T is a main phase which includes one type or two types or more of transition metallic elements including Fe or Fe and Co as indispensable), and a grain boundary phase including more R than the main phase. They are heavy rare earth elements as the R. Moreover, they are composed of sintered material including Cu and/or Co. In the grain boundary phase, the high concentration region of the heavy rare earth elements and Cu, and/or the heavy rare earth elements of Co exist in a distinct position.
