简介 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a discharge electrode with a high efficiency, an electrode material forming it, its manufacturing method and a fluorescent lamp low in power consumption, long in service life and used as, for example, a backlight for a liquid crystal display or the like. ŽSOLUTION : An electrode for a fluorescent lamp is made of a sintered material layer (C) formed on a base material metal layer (A) in a powder metallurgical sintering method and densified with rolling. Particles of a low work function substance such as hexaboride of a rare earth element is dispersed and exposed in and on the material layer (C).
