PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dust collecting apparatus capable of being made small in size and high in dust collection ratio compatibly with respect to a cyclone type dust collecting apparatus for removing dust or the like in air by centrifugation.
SOLUTION : The dust collecting apparatus 1 has a shutter member 6 on an lower surface of an outer cylinder 2, wherein the shutter member 6 is constituted with a column 9 having a disc 8. When the height dimension of the dust collecting apparatus 1 is lessened, the lower end of an inner cylinder 4 and the lower surface of the outer cylinder 2 come near to each other and, therefore, dusts which are separated and fall onto the lower surface of the outer cylinder 2 are drawn to the inner cylinder 4 side by an air stream sucked to the inner cylinder 4. In relation to this, the dust collecting apparatus 1 has the shutter member 6, therefore, the fallen dusts come into collision with the shutter member 6, the movement of fallen dusts is obstructed and the re-scattering of the dusts can be suppressed. Therefore, the lower end of the inner cylinder 4 and the lower surface of the outer cylinder 2 are allowed to come near to each other without degrading the dust collection ratio, and the cyclone type dust collecting apparatus capable of being made small in size and high in dust collection ratio compatibly can be provided.
