PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet capable of exhibiting sufficient corrosion-resistance properties even if it comes into contact with a high-temperature ATF. SOLUTION : The preferred rare earth magnet 1 comprises a main phase 22 and a grain boundary phase 24, and areas near the surfaces are a main phase oxide region 22a and a grain boundary oxide region 24a. The rare earth magnet 1 contains a rare earth element and oxygen on its surface, and an amorphous-containing layer 30 containing an amorphous structure on the surface so that at least the grain boundary phase 24 (grain boundary oxide region 24a) is covered.
