PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To enable a region which becomes an observation object of a lumen internal organ to be efficiently extracted and displayed. SOLUTION : The subject medical image displaying device is equipped with a display 19 which displays a medical tomogram being photographed by a medical tomogram photographing device, and a mouse 16 which sets a starting point of a region for extracting the lumen internal organ region becoming the observation object by referring to the displayed medical tomogram. A CPU 10 (central processing unit) extracts the lumen internal organ region by a specified extraction algorithm from the set starting point, and a branching section of the extracted lumen internal organ region is detected. One direction from the branching directions of the detected branching section is selected, and the lumen internal organ in the selected direction is re-extracted by the specified extraction algorithm.
