PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a metal halide lamp prevented from generation of fusion at a part where an external lead wire is welded to a metal foil. ?SOLUTION : On the metal halide lamp, metal halide and rare gas are contained in a discharge space 12 formed inside a light emission tube part 11 of a transparent airtight container 1, in which a discharging media substantially not containing mercury is sealed. The metal foils 21, 22 connected to electrodes 31, 32 at one end, and connected to external lead wires 51, 52 at the other end are sealed in a sealing parts 131, 132 formed at both ends of the light emission part 11. A plurality of cracks 14 are formed on the sealing part 132 sealing the external lead wire 52, and a crack 14 formation range in an axial direction is 2.0 mm. ?COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI ? |
