PURPOSE : A white light emitting diode is provided to ensure thermal and chemical stability and to have high color rendering characteristic and light emitting efficiency.CONSTITUTION : A white light emitting diode is denoted by chemical formula 1 : Ba_(2-x)Re_xAl_ySi_(5-y)N_8. The white light emitting diode contains a nitride red phosphors having 300-550nm of excitation wave length and 520-700nm of emission wave length. A nitride red phosphors is mixed in a transparent epoxy or silicon resin and is applied on a chip which forms a light emitting diode light source by a dispensing method.
