PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an inexpensive composite oxide containing lithium and iron, capable of realizing a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary cell offering a high capacity and excellent cycle characteristics, and a method for manufacturing the same.
SOLUTION : The composite oxide containing lithium and iron is represented by the formula : LixFe6-y-zMeyLzO16 (wherein element Me is at least one chosen from the group consisting of V and Mn; element L is at least one chosen from the group consisting of a transition metal, an alkaline earth metal, a rare earth element, a group IIIb element and a group IVb element other than Fe, V and Mn; and x, y and z satisfy the relations : 11
