PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a polymer obtained by the processes of separating (isolating) a double decker ring closure type T8 trans/cis isomer mixture each singly, or separating so that one of the isomers becomes excessive by a re-crystallization treatment and then polymerizing by using the above, and a method for producing the same.
SOLUTION : This trans or cis isomer of a completely fused oligosilsesquioxane is expressed by general formula (1) [wherein, Rs are each independently H, 1-10C alkyl of which optional number of hydrogen atoms may be replaced with 1-10C alkyl, 6-10C aryl, 7-10C arylalkyl or 3-10C cycloalkyl which may be substituted by a halogen atom or 1-10C alkyl; and X is 4C saturated branched alkyl].
