PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth sintered magnet having superior remagnetization characteristics.
SOLUTION : An Sm-R-T-B(-M)-based sintered magnet mainly contains Sm, R (R refers to one of or a combination of two or more kinds of rare earth elements containing Y, excluding Sm), T (T refers to Fe, or Fe and Co), and B wherein Sm is of 0.1-10 mass%, R is of 22-37 mass%, and B is of 0.5-1.5 mass%. The magnet further contains 0-4.0 mass% of a doping element M (M refers to one of or a combination of two or more kinds of elements, including Ga, Zr, Nb, Hf, Ta, W, Mo, Al, Si, V, Cr, Ti, Cu, Ag, Mn, Ni, Ge, Sn, Bi, Pb, Zn, C, N and O), and the remaining comprises T and inevitable impurities. The Sm-R-T-B(-M)-based sintered magnet excels in the remagnetization characteristics and can be used in applications such that magnetization, demagnetization and remagnetization occurs repeatedly.
