A method for producing a polylactic acid, by which polylactic acids of uniform quality can be obtained in a shortened production time; an apparatus for producing a polylactic acid; a method for producing a biodegradable plastic; and an apparatus for producing a biodegradable plastic. A plant-based raw material is hermetically sealed in a primary fermentation tank (12), and lactic-acid-fermented therein. The fermentation product fermented in the primary fermentation tank (12) is separated into a liquid fraction and a solid fraction by a first separating means (13). The liquid fraction of the fermentation product separated by the first separating means (13) is hermetically sealed in a secondary fermentation tank (15), and re-fermented therein. The re-fermentation product re-fermented in the secondary fermentation tank (15) is separated into a liquid fraction and a solid fraction by a second separating means (16). A lactic acid is extracted by a dehumidifying means (17) by evaporating water from the liquid fraction of the re-fermentation product separated by the second separating means (16). A polylactic acid (2) is obtained by a polymerizing means (18) by heating and polymerizing the lactic acid extracted by the dehumidifying means (17). |
