PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of manufacturing a rare earth magnet having both of improved magnetic characteristics and improved corrosion resistance.SOLUTION : The method of manufacturing the rare earth magnet includes : an adhesion step of adhering dispersion containing a solvent and a polyphenylenesulfide resin dispersed into the solvent to a magnet element body 12 containing rare earth elements; and a protective layer formation step of heating the magnet element body to which the dispersion has adhered in a vacuum or inert gas atmosphere to form a protective layer 14 containing a polyphenylenesulfide resin on the magnet element body 12.
