PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet having both of improved magnetic characteristics and improved corrosion resistance.SOLUTION : The rare earth magnet 10 includes : a magnet element body 12 containing rare earth elements; and a protective layer 15 provided on the magnet element body 12. The protective layer 15 has a first protective layer 13 and a second protective layer 14 sequentially from the side of the magnet element body 12.
