PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a process for efficiently producing a particulate phosphor represented by Y(V, P)O4 : A, wherein A represents a rare earth metal other than yttrium, whose luminance is less reduced by initial UV irradiation.
SOLUTION : The process comprises the following steps : (1) a step to prepare a composition (I) containing an yttrium compound, a compound of a rare earth metal other than yttrium, and a complex-forming compound in water; (2) a step to prepare a composition (II) containing a vanadium compound and a phosphorus compound in water; and (3) a step to mix and react the compositions (I) and (II).
